Hello,
Well I'm sad that another trip to New Zealand and that once again it was the best trip of the year. I don't know what it is with that place. I think it's a mixture of beautiful scenery, great friends, riding and so much other stuff to do including living there for a month. I'll miss our cat Georgie, our group yoga sessions and my NZ family.
I think this year was the best ever. We were all living, 7 of us, in a little cozy cottage by the Lake Wanaka. We had our family dinners every night and the must party Wednesday at Shooters for Karaoke. Then, every day riding at Snow Park with the off days playing golf, kayaking, archery or just exploring around. This last week I finished the NZ trip by doing a the first World Cup of the season in Cardrona. The pipe was sick, but so were the winds of up to 110 km/hour. They actually made it happen with the finals the next day. I had a great time but got taken down by a huge gust of wind in my Final run. So I ended-up 9th. I guess it was OK, for the first WC of the year and full-loaded contest. Lisa came to live with me and the rest of my crew for my last few nights. I was so happy to hang out with her for a bit. I wish I could have stayed to ride with her.
So I made the best of my last day by going to jump the 3rd biggest bungy in the World. It was 134m and 8.5 seconds of Free Fall. It was crazy. I was stressing out about it for 2 weeks, but by the time I got there I was at peace with it and the it was Gab and Miikka that now looked stressed out. It was one of the best and craziest things I've ever done. The feeling of free-falling for that long is indescribable. You guys have to do it one day. Now I'm home, back in Squamish for a while. I don't really know what is next.
Toutaloo!
