Shred in Style – the Elan Snowboards Trick Tip Tour is coming to the Snowpark Scuol!

With tons of style and loads of freestyle action, the Elan Snowboards Trick Tip Tour is currently visiting Europe’s top snowparks. Small wonder, therefore, that it’s also coming to the Snowpark Scuol on the 4th and 5th of February. With our Trick’n’Shoot Raffle you can win massive goodies and even an Elan Prodigy board – we’ll tell you how it works!

Look out, shredheads: next week, the Elan Snowboards Trick Tip Tour will come to Switzerland and will visit the Snowpark Scuol! On the one hand, you’ll get the chance to test the newest Elan Snowboard Equipment for free. But that’s not all: the Elan pros Urska Pribosic, Rudi Janda and Dejan Hodzic will also be there, meaning they’ll show and teach you their most stylish tricks at the coaching! Taking part isn’t very complicated, either. Just turn up at the Elan test stand in the snowpark at 10.00 AM on the shooting day, register and you’re part of it! If you make an effort at the coaching and show your best moves, you can even win massive Elan goodies – what more do you want?

The second tour stop of the Elan Snowboards Trick Tip Tour was held at Snowpark Morea in Predazzo, Italy. If you were part of the tour stop you can now win a massive Elan goodie bag or even an Elan PRODIGY board including UNION boots and ARGON binding at the end of the tour! If you couldn’t be there, no need to worry: with our missions, you’ve got the same chance to win those wicked prizes!

The procedure is easy as pie: if you are part of one of the Elan Snowboards Trick Tip Tourstops, professional photographers will shoot you while shredding with the Elan pros. The pictures will then be uploaded on Facebook where you can tag yourself. If you couldn’t be there, that’s fine with us: just complete the respective missions given out after every tour stop and follow these simple steps:

Lucile wins Bronze for Elan Snowboards !

KUHTAI, Jan 15:

Lucile Lefevre, Elan Snowboards Team performed outstandingly at the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in the Half Pipe Womens competition.

After a outstanding performance in the qualifiers and semi-finals Lucile shone , landing several complicated moves on this intimidating superpipe. None could match OHEfor sheer speed and height. Gold medal thus went to Japan, second place was taken by Arielle GOLD from USA.

At the end Lucile grabbed the MARVELOUS BRONZE MEDAL for Team France and Elan Snowboards.

Trick Tip Tour is visiting MOREA SNOWPARK close to Bellamonte in Italy this weekend!

At the Elan Snowboards Trick Tip Tour, you couldn’t possibly ask for more: taking place in nine select snowparks in Austria, Italy, France and Switzerland, at each tour stop you’ll get the opportunity to test the newest Elan snowboarding equipment. Afterwards, you’ll meet up with the Elan Snowboard Team in the local snowpark where real pros will give you valuable advice as to how to improve your skills. Additionally, they’ll show you their tricks, which you can then practice together. Taking part really pays off: those who show the sickest tricks at the coaching will be rewarded with sweet Elan goodies!

You don’t even need to sign up beforehand: all you need to do is turn up at a tour stop near you, meet up at 10.00am at the Elan test stand and be part of it! The Elan Snowboard Trick Tip Tour is coming to a snowpark near you, so don’t miss it!

Elan's Lucile Lefevre WINS at Halfpipe World Cupe in RUKA!

What a day for Lucile!

Not only was this the first victory in her carrier at a World Cup Event but also she took over the lead at in the Halfpipe World Cup.

After finishing best in the qualifiers, Lucile performed flawlessly with a FS Lien Air to BS Air, FS 540, Mute to Japan Air and an FS 720 securing her the victory.
No wonder, she was all smiles: 'This is only my second World Cup event. I'm super happy to have this result!'
once again congrats from the Elan Snowboards team.

Elan Snowboards is proud to welcome Lucile Lefevre into our Girls Global AM Team.

Being only 15 year old she has already 6 years of snowboarding under her feet. And that is not all. She has been in various comps since little and among her favorites are also the 2010 French HP Champion U15 / U13 Title and 2nd place at French SS Nationals.

But this is not the limit for Lucile

''I have participated to my first world cup in Saas-Fée in November and have realized a good performance by being 9th. I will go to the youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, and I hope to be on the box !

I know that I’m a very lucky girl, because I’m only 16 and I will travel all around the world to do what I love : snowboarding !!! Life is beautiful.''

Start of season happened just like a flash: on 20. october big weather front hit Slovenia and there was snow causing chaos in lowlands. It cleared up very next day, so I went to Soriška planina and hiked knee-deep powder to warm up. It's just amazing how good conditions were eventhough just for couple days. Bohinj crew built kickers on every corner and had tons of fun too...Matevž Pristavec even tried doubleback couple times.

Very next day I went to Vršič, but bad weather rolled in. It caused some kind of creative crysis and pulled even worse weather in in upcoming weeks. Snow was gone in just couple days and I got back into standby mode.

Apparently we're expecting another record snow year like last year.

Sep. 30th - Oct. 2nd 2011, seventh edition of Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux kicks off earlier than ever before!

This year the winter season will be kicked off earlier than ever, to be precise on September 30th at the Hintertux glacier! While rainy summer is dragging on, the Betterpark is already preparing for the first season opening of the winter. Such a perfect set up is something the big guns in snowboarding don’t want to miss out on, and so the likes of Marko Grilc, Seppe Smits, Wolle Nyvelt, Gigi Rüf, Werni Stock and Wojtek Pawlusiak have become regulars at the Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux over the past years. Together with a whole array of side activities, including video world premier and the usual party mayhem, this should convince even the last doubters that the journey to Hintertux is well worth it!

The Hotzone.tv Park Opening Hintertux isn’t the most popular snowboard opening in Europe for no reason. A perfectly shaped Betterpark, long runs down to the Fernerhaus, more than 20 brands offering free test gear, queue free ascents with the high performance Gletscherbus Gondola, a special obstacle right in front of the Fernerhaus, and even a fully shaped super pipe (if snow conditions suffice), guarantee an amazing weekend in the Tuxer valley. Everyone who is already shaped up for battling can try to win some fame and money at the open pro and am contest Hotzone.tv Session of the Dudes. And there are even more bucks to be made at the Cash for Trix session at the special obstacle in front of the Fernerhaus on Sunday.

Of course there’s also the usual variety of side events with DJ NLP from Straubing providing the soundtrack for the test area during the day and the BBQ station catering for all the hungry ones. Later in the afternoon follows the After Shred Session at the glacial parking lot on Saturday, which is all about THE UNBREAKABLE BATTLE presented by gloryfy. What’s to expect from that will not be revealed yet, but there is an Original Bag Jump involved… Apart from that K2 is searching for the new „King of Pop“ again in their K2 Pop this! Highest Ollie Tournament.

Sunday calls talented kids under 16 on the glacier for the exclusive Billabong Kids Shoot, with team rider and Zillertaler shred legend Wolle Nyvelt coaching to ensure money shots. Don’t wait too long though, as spots are limited and only for those who pre-register at www.hotzone.tv before the event and have the form signed by their parents with them on the hill. And who knows, one participant even bagged a 1-year sponsorship with Billabong from this last year - which could well happen again this year.

The party mayhem is inaugurated by the SHRED Warm Up Party in the Kleine Tenne in Tux on Friday, with Wax Wreckaz’s DJ BUSY FINGAZ making those dancing shoes move. The big Opening Night on Saturday is presented by Australian board and lifestyle brand RHYTHM and will go down in the Hohenhaus Tenne in Hintertux. Next to finest tunes by the WAX WRECKAZ DJ KOLLEKTIV (Innsbruck) and the DJ duo SMITH UND SMART (Berlin) you can also look forward to the world premier of the latest snowboard movie by Argon Films, EUPHORIA.
Based on the massive onslaught in the past years, we strongly recommend to reserve party tickets beforehand on www.hotzone.tv, buy them in one of the three hotzone subsidiaries (Gerlos, Mayrhofen, Schwaz) or the insider Shop in Tux, or get them from the test area at the Fernerhaus. What a night. Wrapping this years Trick Tip Tour with a great party was the perfect thing after a long season. We had some great times hanging out with people related to the tour, checking out year’s footage and having some great time.

Trick Tip Tour Avoriaz

Previous weekend we teamed up with our French riders from our team: Bruno Rivoire and Jessica Venables to make everyone stoked about learning new tricks. To help, we have brought also Urška Pribošič and Matevž Pristavec and Erik Harc. And we had perfect setting to learn some tricks - Big air bag. It was set just above the chill area in Arare snowpark. It included barbecue, great beats, deckchairs and fun puddle, over which lots were sliding and spraying everyone that sat aroud it. After TTT participants learned few new tricks, they were awarded with goodies and one lucky girl got new Aurora snowboard.

Despite summer temperatures we spend two amazing days in Avoriaz and we all hope to come back once there is loads of powder and all snowparks are opened.

Finland (Levi) slopestyle 4star TTR Battery Catfight

Top Level Slopestyle Battle Wowed the Crowds
The slopestyle contest wrapped up the Battery Catfight with a bang and the level of riding was incredibly high. Urška Pribošič stomped a clean run consisting of lofty stylish airs, clean grabs and rock solid landings to claim the victory. Her run boasted a frontside 180 on to switch backside 180 out on the rail, frontside 720 mute grab, backside 360 tail grab, frontside 360 tail and a tailtap on the last jib feature. “It was the most fun event of the season, with lots of good riders and the course was super fun, except we had a bit of wind. I’ve never been this far up North in Finland, which has been exciting and I just hope I get to see the Northern lights now.“ Urska moved up into World No. 28, and when asked about her plans for the next season she says, “I plan to do a lot more contests on the TTR tour next year.” In second place was Isabel Derungs who impressed the crowds and judge’s with her backside rodeos and in third was Tini Gruber, who both along with Urska received wild card to the 4Star Billabong Flaunt-It finals in California, USA in a few weeks time. Also making some big moves up in the TTR Ranking after the Battery Catfight is up and coming Finnish rider Merika Enne, who now sits in World No. 29.

On Saturday, 19.03., children's snowboard series - ELAN SNOWBOARD KIDS TOUR - had it's last stop of the season. Thru the season, it was held on Rogla, Pohorje and Vogel and gave us the winners of the National Cup in snowboarding in the category of girls younger than 15 years ('96 and younger), older boys up to 15 years ('96, '97 and '98) and young boys born '99 and younger.

Winners of the tour became Tit Štante, Bono Kralj Kos and Tjaša Gašperlin (who was also undefeated in all three stops).

Boys:

On Saturday, 12.3.2011, we headed to Schladming in Austrian Steiermark. We found one of the most amusing snow parks - Horsefeathers Superpark Planai. It offers something for everybody; from one meter tabletops to big (18m table) step down kickers and loads of rails and boxes. After setting out test booth, we had bunch of shredders joining our trick tip session with Jakob and Christoph Messner. End of it, we gave out new Prodigy snowboard and goodies as usual to stoked girls and guys. Make sure you check the podcast that should drop shortly!

ELAN Snowboards KIDS TOUR 2011 - Children's National Cup snowboard made it’s first stop in a snowpark Rogla. In the Slopestyle discipline the young riders competed in the categories of younger and older boys and girls category.
The competition course was composed of three basic structures, 2x jumps and box-a, and finally, for those with a bit more snowboarding knowledge there was also downrail available. In the contest, there were just under 30 riders in the contest, we have seen more tricks up to 540° rotation. In the category of older G's, as the official speaker of the series Klemen Bučan called it, Tit ŠTANTE won. In younger male category, Bono KRALJ KOS and in the girl’s category Tjaša Gašperlin won.

Children's series is moving to Mariborsko Pohorje, where funcross will be held on 12.03.2011.

ITAK FREESTYLE WEEK ON ROGLA

Elan snowboards is proud to present and be a part of the Itak Freestyle Week held on the Rogla Snow Resort, Slovenia.
Rogla Snow Resort, Slovenia is becoming a well-known freestyle spot in Europe. After last year’s event when Marko Grilc put Rogla with Red Bull Double Air Project on world map and different freestyle events ranging from European Cup Competitions to core sessions, which gathered lots of people from different countries in last 4 years – this year Rogla is putting it down hammer time in the end of March.
Freestyle Week on ROGLA is a 5-day party from 23rd-27th of March where snowpark is supersized; on snow sessions and music performances are being held round the clock. You can chill on the snow-beach, chill on the sun and drink your favorite party drink or you can take your skis/ snowboard and shred supersized snowpark. There will be free testing of freeski/snowboard equipment, big air bag to test your new trick, already some online competitions are going on, where winners will be announced on Freestyle Week, music performances on 2 stages and extra games in the lower section of the slope.
Saturday 26th of March will be hosting Elan’s Spin&Style event. All visitors of the Rogla Fun Park are invited to participate and show how much they can spin their tricks on the selected object and inspire us with their style. Friday and Saturday are pure party days, in that time ska/punk/rock bands will take place during day concerts, later there is a night concert and ending the night Slovenian best dancefloor DJs are about to put the party on fire.
This year’s edition will gather freestylers from Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia and more…There are super cheap packets ready, from Friday - Sunday for only 60,00 EUR on (accommodation + lift ticket and party bracelet) or a 5 day package (accommodation + lift ticket and party bracelet) for 111,00 EUR on.

For the past weekend I was on Rogla which hosted the Artec TTR contest in slopestyle. And this time i took the role of a judge and my artec teammate Nejc Ferjan also. Have to say that this isn't so easy, it's harder than I thought. We have also seen a try of a doublebackflip so the level of riding wasn't so low, it was pretty high :))

The winners have become: 3rd-Peter Podlogar, 2nd-Žiga Rakovec, 1st-TimKevin Ravnjak

And the girls winners: 3rd-Marta Jekot, 2nd-Taja Korpar, 1st-Anja Štefan

They all get awesome prizes and everybody have had a great time.

Trick Tip Tour Rogla

Last Saturday we had new stop of our much anticipated Trick Tip Tour. Our destination was Rogla in the North-East of Slovenia. The resort have the biggest snowpark in Slovenia and further East.. Unfortunately, they were making new snow in the park at the time of our visit. But we still had more than enough obstacles to play with.
Our international rider Domen Bizjak was the main star and of course, the coach. There was also our new kid on the block - Filip Kavčič and already known Žiga Erlač. We had more shredders applying than we could handle.. They were stoked to learn few tricks on the small kicker.

It was first time to jump for a winning girl - the one that got brand new board. As usual, all the others got some goodies from Elan snowboards.
Ready for next stop? Then show up at Planai on 12th of March and battle out for board and the goodies! See you there!

Getting our asses kicked in the desert

Morocco is a beautiful and geographically very diverse country that enables you to do a huge variety of sports. We were all packed in our old VW with surfboards for the Atlantic coast, climbing gear and BASE rigs for the steep High Atlas walls, but first we wanted to have some fun - sand boarding on the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes, so we headed down to Merzouga.
Merzouga is situated in southeastern Morocco just over 3100km drive from Slovenia and holds one of two Saharan ergs in the northwest African nation. The dunes are formed by a wind-blowing sand and reach up to 150 meters high, which makes it a perfect place for those eager to do some sand skiing or just watching the amazing sunsets that colour the dunes orange and red. The locals believe that these dunes were sent as punishment for turning away a weary traveler from the desert. They say that shortly thereafter, the gods made the dunes pile up outside their town as a lesson never to send away another needy wanderer.
Well I guess they have learned their lesson. Shortly after we parked our car at the edge of the dunes the whole village was there, some a bit more shy just observing from the distance, some coming closer already inviting us for tagine (most common Moroccan food) and showing us to the well with fresh drinking watter. Our dog was the centre of attraction chasing the local kids (and some adults) around as we were packing our things for camping in the desert. This time we decided not to get blisters on our behinds from riding the camels and just explore the dunes by ourselves, so we were quite heavily loaded as we took off to the dessert. The main thing was to pick some wood for a cosy fire in front of our tent in the night.
After walking for about an hour and a half we all started to miss the camels a bit, the wind was getting stronger and stronger, so we decided to set up the camp in a small valley between two dunes. By the time we put the tent up the wind was so strong we had to bury half of the tent in the send so it did not get blown away. Everything was set and finally we were ready to hit the dunes with our boards.
Naturally we tried to get to the longest and steepest slope, but the walking part is somehow even more more exhausting than walking in deep snow. We were making two steps forward and one step back. Combined with the heavy wind factor we decided to leave the highest peak for the next day and have some fun on the closer slopes. The sand boarding does not get to the same speed we are used to on the snow, but it does provide a nice slow motion boarding in an interesting environment, for us even in extreme conditions with the sand trying to get to absolutely all the holes on our bodies. We all looked like Tuaregs very quickly trying to protect from it. Short pants are definitely not a good idea as you feel the sand like a million mosquitoes trying to eat your thighs. It is also quite amazing how the soft sand gets as hard as concrete when you fall down on it with some speed...
So we were running up and down having a great time, already talking about making a jump from the woods we brought for the fire, when it started to get dark. We looked around surprised, as we did not think it has been that late already and we saw a huge black wall coming toward us. Speechless for a few seconds we quickly decided to get back to our tent, pack the gear and get the hell out of there. The way back to the car was quite interesting as the strong wind was blowing towards us, pushing us back to the desert, the sand was all around us and the visibility was almost down to zero. We were quite happy to get to the car, packed all the gear and the dog inside, pulled the car out of the sand in all together about 3 minutes and just drove as far away as we could...
That was it with the sand boarding expedition, but heading towards the High Atlas, we had many more things to look forward to even if the desert has chewed and spit us out....better luck next time!

Trick Tip Tour Stop Soelden

Past weekend we enjoyed the beauty of Soelden Glacier as we chose it as the next tour stop. We used friday to shoot some pics and clips on glacier Stadium, where World cup races finish. We got few nice grinds, flips and handplants from our riders Patrick Woerle and new force on the team Luis Gaerttner. On saturday we saw again lots of stoked dudes on our free coaching session. Of course we gave out brand new Prodigy snowboard and some goodies as well.
Next stop in all the way to Holland. See you on signing session in Aachen on 3rd and in Landgraaf ski hall on 4th of December..

"Snow Cube" - different snowboarding and humanitarian project

Last saturday - in the biggest shopping centre City Centre One in Zagreb (Croatia) - artistic instalation was presented. Academic painter Edo Murtič's graphic was blueprinted on three snowboards by Elan company in Furnitz (Austria). Goal of the auction is to raise as many funds to bring as many unprivileged kids as possible to Snowboard school on Sljeme ski resort near the Croatian capital.

For some, summer passed by to quickly.. For others, that was just waiting game before heading back on snow.. Anticipation is over, as glaciers in Alps are slowly starting to open. Second silver for Urška

Oops, she did it again..

At the Big Air event that took place on 31st of August as a part of the 2010 Junior World Championship, our Elan Chicas Team rider got medal, again! Urška Pribošič showed her amazing skills and took silver. Just another trophy in the bag after her great season and great boost for the coming one.

Many girls chose the massive 20m jump over the smaller 17m option. Enni Rukajarvi (FIN) took out the women’s Junior World Champion title at Cardrona at the final day of the 2010 FIS Snowboard & Freestyle Junior World Championships and Klaudia Medlova got bronze.

URŠKA SECOND AT THE JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP !

On Saturday 21st August 2010 Junior World Championship – Women’s Slopestyle event finals (Lake Wanaka, New Zealand) went down and our Elan Chicas Team rider Urška Pribošič, Slovenia showed an outstanding performance.

The Judges were also impresed and rewarded her efforts with an amazing Second Place in the Women's Slopestyle category.

The day started great for Urška with a second place at the qualifications – a place that she defended in the finals.

This has been just one of the great results for Urška this year. After her debut at the Roxy Chicken Jam 2010 where she finished 15th, she went on and WON the Sista Sessions 2010 (Mayrhofen, Austria) and finished second at the 2010 European Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Finals (Laax, Switzerland).

Congratulations Urska for the great results. Keep it going girl!

Elan Snowboards in cooperation with VBG Design Agency created a uniqly designed board for one of Slovenia's Greatest Music Artist, DJ Umek. Celebrating his achievements in the world of electronic music – DJ Umek is one of the most renowed artists not just in Slovenia but also on the European music scene – we created a unique board with his signature graphics that will fit not only his riding but also his lifestyle.

We surprized him with the board at the yearly musical event »Day Of Electronics« held in Ljublana's (Slovenia) outdor theater Križanke. Not to mention that on the same day he celebrated his Birthday !

Here are some facts about DJ Umek and his work:

DJ UMEK

For a long time, Slovenia is known for its great electronic parties, but as the local scene is of boutique dimensions, everyone, who wishes to take the art of mixing and producing to a professional level, has to go out there and enter the worldwide scene. Umek has done this step as early as in the middle of the 90s and so he became one of the most important techno players of the global techno scene, even before the end of the last millennium. Together with people, who shared the same views, he successfully captured the first era of researching and recreating the rules of the dance music in Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco platforms, which all put the sound of the Slovenian techno on the world map of electronic music.

In the beginning of the year 2007, Umek started a new 1605 Music Therapy - Sixteenofive, with which he marked the beginning of the second era of his music creation and what an era it is. 5 highly popular releases on the 1605 label with lots more planned in the next few months, a huge success of the »Day Of Electronics 09« - the main 1605 event in Krizanke (Ljubljana, Slovenia) for the third year in a row, a popular summer festival »Disconautica« (Koper, Slovenia) featuring 1605 Main Floor for the second year in a row and with over 50.000 attending people. Furthermore the 15 astonishing releases and remixes already released in 2009 are the best proof, that Umek stays focused on his primary goal – to make high quality productions that stand out from the rest and to bring this music closer to people all around the world.

Domen Bizjak third in London!

London 01.11.2009:

Last weekend snowboarders have competed at the first FIS Big Air Competition in London. Among 50 competitors from 12 countries were also Elan Snowboards riders Domen Bizjak and Matevž Pristavec.

Both of our competitors qualified for the finals. In front of 15.000 spectators Domen Bizjak ended excellent third after three more than good jumps. „Even though recently I have pulled out some great jumps I have not imagined that I would end up third overall. During summer I have trained good and results are now here.“

Great result for Elan Snowboards was boosted with Matevž Pristavec ending fourth.

LOVE Teammovie "Loveolution"

The Austrian Snow-, Skateboard and Streetwear Brand LOVE, is very proud to bring out their first Teammovie. The film was done in cooperation with blue tomato and is for sure one of the most different and entertaining Snow and Skate movies in 2009! Love Snow Teamriders: Marc Swoboda, Matevz Pristavec, Seppi Scholler, Thomas Feurstein, Dominik Wagner and Flo Mausser, where busy shooting all last year. From Big powder stuff shots at Arlberg or switzerland, massive park jumps in sLOVEnia, sweden or Superpark, or the Special 'rainbow jib session', this movie is a good mix of powder, park and jibs! Skaters Xico Basabe, Allessandro Massotti and Thomas Vevjar also spent days and nights filming and you will see that it was worth it.
Besides this, the riders show that some of them also got other 'hidden talents'.. and the whole crew garanties that this is for sure the most entertaining movie in 2009 :)

Benno Postert: First King of S.N.O.W.

After four month all participants elected the first King of S.N.O.W. After eight hard rounds German Artec Rookie Benno Postert took the lead and won 5.000,- USD plus a lot of coverage worldwide. The matter of fact is much more impressive, since Benno is out of the northern part of Germany and started snowboarding only three years ago! Congrats Benno!!
Second became Martin Kalliola out of Finland, who could stick his BS 900° at the final in La Plagne, France pretty good, but at the end it was not enough to take over the lead.

Elan Chicas Notebook Competition Winners Announced!

Elan Snowboards is proud to announce the name of the winner of the Elan Chicas Notebook competition: a lengthy round of applause and a standing ovation go out to Neža Peterca, from Mengeš, Slovenija.

Now in its second year, the ever-popular Elan Chicas Notebook competition once again invited visitors to www.elanchicas.com to upload scans or images of their most creative diary and notebook pages.

After receiving tons of entries throughout the two-month competition window, the Elan Chicas team riders – including Lisa Filzmoser, Conny Bleicher and Dominique Vallée – spent a good few hours sifting through all of the entries and debating the merits of the best submissions before singling out Neža as the overall winner.

Impressed by the extraordinary depth and quality of entries, Elan Chicas team rider Dominique Vallée said: “It was so tough picking out just one winner, but unfortunately that’s what we had to do. Neža’s entry was inspiring and creative, and captured perfectly the spirit of the Elan Chicas program. She’s a worthy winner, that’s for sure!”

As a reward for her winning efforts, Neža will spend an exciting day at the Elan Snowboards headquarters where she’ll experience a personal tour of the Elan Snowboards factory. While she’s there, Neža will also enjoy an opportunity to meet the Chicas crew and designers, and will assume a credited role in the creation of the new Elan Chicas notebook, in which her entry will take pride of place on the inside front cover!

Fellow Chicas team rider and judge Conny Bleicher was equally blown away by the imagination of the entries, saying: “It’s never easy picking a winner when the standard is so high, so it was great that we could also select 19 runner-up entrants. Those 19 submissions will be featured in the next Elan Chicas notebook, while every single entrant in the competition will also receive a free copy of the notebook! It’s our special way of saying thank you for taking part in this inspiring competition!”

Elan Chicas Camp review

From 7th till 8th March the Jurassik Snowpark in Folgaria / Italy hosted the first ever Elan Chicas snowboard camp. Together with our international team riders Lisa Filzmoser, Conny Bleicher and Dominique Valleé and Chicitas riders Urška Pribošič and Matilda Pilfalk a team of enthusiastic girls were riding , being coached in the park and as well testing some of our new 2010/11 Chicas boards.
At the end of the camp obvious progress was visible in the riding of all attending girls, but even more important a big smile was to be seen on each girls face.

From 7th till 8th March the fabulous Jurassik Snowpark in Folgaria / Italy will host the first Elan Chicas snowboard camp!

The Elan Chicas International Team with Lisa Filzmoser, Conny Bleicher and Dominique Vallée will be riding the park and offer their coaching to everybody who likes to get some tips form the pros. Elan Chicas demo boards are up for some free testing too!

After you have practiced your skills during the first day in the park you have the chance to take part in the night rail contest, kicking of at Saturday evening. The after contest party at the Juhn Club in Folgaria rounds up the package in style.

Elan riders dominate CAD-Tour in Ehrwald

On 17th of January Ehrwald, Austria hosted the „Chill and Destroy 3 star TTR Slopestyle Contest. It was the 2nd stop of the CAD Tour, a rookie series with 10 events hold in various resorts in Germany, Switzerland, France and Austria. The “BetterPark Ehrwald” with it’s solid set-up was the perfect stage for Elan international team rider Friedl May (GER) and Team Alps rider Patrick Wörle (AUT) to demonstrate their skills. At the end of a sunny day with some great riding from guys like Rudi Kröll (AUT), Alessandro Boyens (GER), Benny Deeg (GER), Ed Gunn (GBR), Chris Nightley (GBR) and Nelson Pratt (GBR) it was Friedl taking the crown and Patrick finishing with a 3rd rank.

Elan Chicas rider Morena Makar wins in Korea

From 12th – 13th of January the Korean resort of Konjiam was hosting the LG Serveone, a Asian Snowboard FIS Cup event. Elan Chicitas member Morena Makar from Croatia took the chance to practice her pipe riding skills for the upcoming FIS World Cup hosted in Gujo, Japan. At the end of the day these “practice session” ended in her fist contest victory of the 08.09 season. ‘’This was one of the best competitions I have ever attended! Really good organization, royal treatment of the riders – everything on a really high level!”, explains a happy Morena and continuous, “The pipe itself was not shaped perfectly so I decided for a safe run – and won! I’m really happy!!’’ Her winning run consisted of clean tricks such as FS Air, FS 360, Cab 360 and Air to Fakie. The 23-year old Morena left Korea with a big smile and 1600 Euros cash reward to participate in the FIS World Cup event in Japan.

After the big success of our “Elan Chicas Notebook Competition 1st Edition” last year, we are proud to announce the 2nd edition of this great creativity contest. The contest is running since December 15th and is open for submissions until 15th of February.

To enter the Chicas Notebook Competition, all you have to do is submit an image or a scanned picture of the best page from your personal diary or notebook. Whether your chosen page is super-creative, plain crazy, downright freaky, like your shopping list, or appointments during the day, etc…what ever you feel like, we want you to submit it now! Outdoor Jibsession in Bottrop/ Germany

Are you in the mood for some summer fun? Instead of heading to one of the glaciers in your area to ride some slush you are more than welcome to take part in the Alpincenter Outdoor Jibsession. The mini shred contest kicks off on August 16th at the outdoor beer garden of the “Alpincenter” (www.alpincenter.com) in Bottrop, Germany. The planed schedule looks like this:

12.00 h – Opening of the beergarden, accreditation for the riders 14.00 h – Warm up and contest (best of 3, head-on-head format) 20.00 h – Live music and party

The entrance to the beer garden is for free. For 25 Euros guests can also purchase an all-inclusive-ticket containing free soft drinks, beer, coffee and wine.

Špela Rihar, Winner of the elan chicas notebook competition, visits the elan hq!

After winning our first Elan Chicas Design Contest in April 2009 it was now time for Spela Rihar, from Slovenia to pick up her prize. Her day at the Elan headquarters started with a visit in the Elan office where she was introduced to the whole P.Lab. After checking the actual works and receiving a unique souvenir-package Product Manager Dragan Gojkovic and Marketing Manager Dorothee Cuny attended her to visit the Elan Snowboards factory in Fürnitz, Austria. Here Spela got the one-of-a-kind opportunity to follow the whole process of building a snowboard. She was even able to hand on some steps in the production-process by herself. After the lunch breaks it was time to continue the tour and head to the next stop: the Elan Chicas design agency VBG in Ljubljana. Spela was welcomed by the designers and had the chance for an ample talk about the whole design process of the boards, boots, bindings and all communication material. Loaded with lots of information and fresh ideas it was time for Spela to work on the finalization of the Elan Chicas Notebook. It was her task to set-up the order off all pages for the final production of the exceptional notebook. As Spela is studying design and communication the whole experience at the Elan headquarters was a useful and very interesting experience for her and she was very happy getting this chance.
